Understanding the Basketball Victoria Annual Participant License fee

As you undertake to register as a participant and arrive on the Fees & Products page during the registration process, you may be requested to pay a Basketball Victoria Annual Licence fee.

The PlayHQ system determines if you are due to pay this fee according to details it holds on previously paid licences, the dates of the season you are registering to, and the type of participant you are registering (registering as a player, referee, coach or team manager). Only players and referees are required to hold a valid licence.

If you believe that you should not be due to pay a licence fee that is presented to you during your registration, do not proceed to payment and please contact the organisation that you are registering to (typically this will be to your association or club - their contact details will be displayed in the footer section of the online registration process).

The annual Basketball Victoria licence (affiliation) covers anyone wanting to participate in a Basketball Victoria sanctioned competition, program or event - allowing a participant to play as many times as they like annually across any affiliated association in Victoria. Basketball Victoria provides a level of insurance to all registered participants of affiliated associations and clubs.

Basketball Victoria’s insurance provider is V-Insurance Group (Corporate Authorised Representative of Willis) and details regarding the level of coverage can be found via the V-Insurance Basketball website.

Associations and clubs may charge their own fees for administration and service.
